On this page · Quick picks and comparison

Choose the AFERIY P280 for higher continuous AC power, or the OUPES MEGA 2 Pro for compatible high-power DC equipment and a B2 battery package that includes its connection cable. Both start at 2,048Wh and expand to 10,240Wh, so equivalent battery orders do not give either a nominal energy advantage. The better home-backup purchase is the complete system whose output, cables and delivery fit your needs.

Quick picks and comparison

  • Mostly AC appliances: P280 is our conditional pick for its higher running-power ceiling.
  • Compatible DC loads: Pro deserves the closer look for its bidirectional Anderson port.
  • Frequent carrying: P280 has a modest weight advantage; compare each separate lift before expanding.

These are manufacturer figures for the US stations. Sources: OUPES specifications and FAQ, AFERIY specifications and its P280 comparison article.

AFERIY P280: the pick for AC load headroom

The 2,800W inverter makes P280 preferable when simultaneous running loads exceed Pro's 2,500W ceiling. A hypothetical 2,600W continuous load fits P280's stated total and exceeds Pro's. That is a rating comparison, not confirmation that a particular compressor will start.

P280 also has the higher station-level solar ceiling, but its two inputs each stop at 600W. Its 300W XT60 DC output is a separate port from the XT90 solar inputs. Buy the US AF-P280 / Haven2800 station, rather than the similarly named battery. The current product selector also offers P300, an alternative model requiring its own specification check.

Check the exact P280 package and delivery with AFERIY.

OUPES MEGA 2 Pro: the pick for compatible DC equipment

Pro's distinguishing feature is its 12–80V, 30A-maximum bidirectional Anderson port, with a 1,000W ceiling. That can matter more than AC headroom when your equipment supports the required voltage and approved cable. A matching connector alone does not establish electrical compatibility.

Its B2 extra battery adds 2,048Wh, lists 18.9kg / 41.8 lb, and includes an Extra Battery Cable. B2 also has USB/DC outputs and a separate solar input; it is not another complete AC station. OUPES explicitly supports B2 with Pro and excludes the G5 battery.

Check MEGA 2 Pro stock and the selected package with OUPES.

MEGA 2, Pro and battery-only listings

The older MEGA 2 shares Pro's base capacity and continuous AC rating, but OUPES gives it 2,100W solar input, versus Pro's 1,000W. Its 5,400W surge figure must not be assigned to Pro. OUPES's family comparison distinguishes surge from Pro's 3,600W Boost Mode.

AFERIY's AF-P280-B is the battery SKU, not an abbreviation for AF-P280. Its listing now names additional compatible stations in the title while the detailed table still says P280 only. Compatibility with P280 is consistent; obtain written approval before buying it for another model.

Compare complete base and expanded orders

The matched expanded comparison is 4,096Wh: station capacity plus a matching 2,048Wh battery. Both systems retain their original continuous AC output after expansion, according to OUPES and AFERIY's cable specifications.

AFERIY's battery page repeats a station package list, so it does not establish the battery box's cable contents clearly. Have the seller itemize the parallel cable; buy it separately if omitted. OUPES lists replacement cable lengths of 2.6, 4.9 and 16.4 feet. Neither a solar lead nor the other brand's battery cable substitutes for the proprietary interconnect.

For a larger order, both makers state support for four matching extra batteries. Have the maker confirm the complete cable layout and delivery of every component before scaling beyond the matched order above.

Running power, surge and bypass are different limits

Use continuous watts for sustained loads. Boost Mode and surge are different specifications, and neither headline establishes a motor's starting compatibility. Both US station pages list household AC output around 120V; a TT-30-shaped outlet does not override the shared inverter limit or establish 240V output.

OUPES's own page conflicts on pass-through power: its headline advertises 2,500W, while its FAQ limits AC charging input plus all outputs to 2,400W in bypass. Plan to the more restrictive FAQ until OUPES resolves it in writing. A 1,000W load alongside 1,800W fast charging exceeds that budget; the 900W slow setting fits that example before other outputs are added.

AFERIY's official comparison article confirms pass-through charging but warns that available output depends on charging source and load. It does not establish a numerical US bypass budget. Obtain that limit for your intended always-connected load; 2,800W battery output is not evidence of the same bypass allowance. Transfer-time claims also do not guarantee that your particular equipment stays running.

Use a licensed electrician, with permits where required, for connections to home circuits.

Fridge-and-light runtime: compare equal energy

For an illustrative fridge-and-light load, assume a combined average of 100W, including compressor cycling. This is a worksheet input, not a typical-appliance claim. Use measured average consumption for your fridge; our refrigerator power guide explains that check.

OUPES's runtime worksheet uses 85% of rated capacity for losses. Applying that same simplifying allowance to both systems gives these estimates, without establishing either unit's actual efficiency:

Station + matching battery, 4,096Wh4,096Wh × 0.85 ÷ 100WAbout thirty-five hours

Allow a reserve. Temperature, aging, reserve settings and station standby draw can reduce these results. Compressor startup must fit the output separately. Higher inverter watts do not produce longer runtime from the same energy at the same load.

Wall and solar replenishment: order the whole path

Both station pages specify 1,800W maximum AC charging. OUPES's 52-minute full-charge claim uses AC plus solar; AFERIY's 55-minute claim describes zero to 80% using AC. They are different endpoints and sources, not a wall-charge race. AFERIY's own table and FAQ disagree on full solar/combined charging times, so do not plan an outage around the shortest advertised time.

For a small complete solar order:

  • OUPES: add its 240W panel, whose box includes an MC4 to (Anderson+XT60+7909) Extension Cable; the Anderson branch serves this system. Pro's station box lists a car-to-Anderson cable, which does not replace that solar lead. The station table specifies 12–80V input, 18–80V MPPT, 30A maximum.
  • AFERIY: add a compatible panel, such as the maker's 400W panel, and use the station's included MC4-XT90 lead. Each solar port is limited to 600W and 11.5–55V; the main specification lists 20A, without clearly allocating that current between ports. Confirm the current allowance and another correct lead before using the second input.

AFERIY's separately sold four-in-one solar adapter has a 10A maximum. The 400W panel's 15A operating current exceeds that adapter's rating; retain the included XT90 lead. Check panel open-circuit voltage in cold conditions, current and the complete cable against the maker's limits. A small panel bundle does not deliver the station's maximum solar input.

Winter charging and written support

OUPES lists 0–40°C operating temperature for Pro. AFERIY lists −10–40°C operating temperature for the expansion battery, not a separate below-freezing charging permission. Obtain charging-specific limits for both station and battery before planning winter garage or outdoor recharging.

OUPES's policy gives the station and B2 five years; its product pages offer one additional year through registration. The policy excludes secondhand purchases and unauthorized retailers; its direct-store return policy does not automatically cover another seller's order.

AFERIY's written policy specifies a two-year station warranty plus a five-year registered extension, available through official or authorized channels to the original buyer. Its battery listing suggests automatic extension for direct orders, but the policy requires registration: register and retain confirmation. Obtain the P280-B battery's warranty term separately; the station's headline does not settle it.

AFERIY also states 4,000-plus cycles to 85% in its station table but more than 80% in the narrative. That unresolved endpoint is not a reason to claim a longevity win.

  • Yes: Exact US station and matching expansion battery on the order
  • Yes: Proprietary battery cable itemized, including any bundled cable
  • Yes: Separate station and battery warranty confirmation
  • Partly: Winter recharging depends on charging-specific limits
  • No: General operating temperature treated as charging permission

Verdict

P280 is the AC-focused pick; MEGA 2 Pro is the DC-focused pick. For expansion, compare the complete station-plus-battery orders, including the cable. Their nominal storage matches, so purchase the smaller supported configuration that meets your load and arrives in time, with written answers on bypass and winter charging where those affect your use.

Frequently asked questions

Is OUPES MEGA 2 Pro better than AFERIY P280 for home backup?

Choose P280 when the deciding requirement is continuous AC output: its stated 2,800W exceeds MEGA 2 Pro's 2,500W. Choose OUPES for compatible high-power DC equipment and the B2 package's included connection cable. Both start at 2,048Wh and support expansion to 10,240Wh. Check delivery before ordering: the researched OUPES page marks Pro sold out and AFERIY lists P280 as a preorder.

What is the difference between MEGA 2 and MEGA 2 Pro?

OUPES lists the same 2,048Wh capacity and 2,500W continuous AC output for both, but Pro has a 1,000W bidirectional Anderson port and 1,000W maximum solar input. The older MEGA 2 is listed with 2,100W solar input. Its 5,400W surge figure also belongs to the older model; Pro's 3,600W Boost Mode is a different specification. Match the complete model name.

Can the AFERIY P280-B battery replace the P280 station?

No. AF-P280 is the station with the AC inverter; AF-P280-B is the 2,048Wh expansion battery. AFERIY says the battery is not a standalone power station. For an expanded order, specify both products and a genuine P280-B parallel cable, checking whether the selected package already includes it. Adding batteries increases stored energy, while the P280's rated AC output remains 2,800W.

How long will either station run a fridge and lights?

With an illustrative combined average AC load of 100W and an assumed 85% usable-energy allowance, a 2,048Wh base station estimates about seventeen hours. A 4,096Wh station-plus-battery system estimates about thirty-five hours. These are calculations, not measured runtimes. Use your refrigerator's actual average consumption, allow a reserve, and check compressor starting demand separately from the energy calculation.

Do both systems include the solar charging cable?

AFERIY lists an MC4-XT90 cable in the P280 station package. OUPES lists an AC cable and a cigarette-lighter-to-Anderson cable in the Pro station box; that car cable is not the panel adapter. Its separate 240W panel includes an MC4-to-Anderson/XT60/7909 lead. Confirm the selected panel package and complete cable path before ordering, especially when using both P280 solar inputs.
