Lectron NEXUS Level 2 EV Charger (J1772, 40A, NEMA 14-50)
Choose for: J1772 car; suitable existing outlet; no charger app wanted
Check before buying: No Wi-Fi or app on this version
Choose Lectron NEXUS for app-free home charging; our starting pick is the 40A J1772 plug-in if your car and professionally checked outlet match it. NEXUS Pro adds advertised Wi-Fi scheduling, monitoring and current control, with the same output ceilings for equivalent connections. As checked on November 3, 2026, Pro's own descriptions identify a late-November pre-sale, and we could not verify a Pro-specific US manual, so it earns a wait recommendation.
For the best EVSE charger across brands and different circuit needs, start with our Level 2 home-charger guide. This page settles the Lectron family, supply connection and vehicle connector decision using official documentation.

Every standalone US configuration: check the whole model code
The standard models have separate product pages; each Pro connector page has a connection selector. The -APP suffix identifies the Pro order in Lectron's page data. Select the native connector your car actually has; check its manual and model year rather than assuming from the brand.

The NACS hardwired page's URL contains 40-amp, while its title, specifications and manual identify 48A. Match the model code and supplied documentation. For a mixed-connector household, use our NACS/J1772 adapter guide before adding an adapter; the bundle name alone does not establish the right direction.
Best documented app-free plug-in: NEXUS J1772 40A
The 9.6kW NEXUS J1772 suits buyers who want charging without a charger app and already have a suitable supply. Its 23-ft cable, J-hook and plug holder are included; Lectron states an ETL listing and 3-year warranty.

Lectron
Lectron NEXUS Level 2 EV Charger (J1772, 40A, NEMA 14-50)
A 40A (9.6kW) plug-in Level 2 home charger with a NEMA 14-50 plug, a 23-ft J1772 cable and an IP66 enclosure, ETL-listed to UL 2594, UL 2231 and UL 2251.

Its manual explicitly says there is no post-installation charger current adjustment, Wi-Fi or DIP switch. Vehicle scheduling can still delay charging where the car supports it. Confirm that feature in your car before paying extra for charger scheduling.
For NACS cars or higher output: other standard NEXUS versions
Choose the native NACS 40A plug-in for the same app-free approach with that vehicle connector. Choose the matching 48A hardwired NEXUS only when the vehicle and professional quotation justify its extra output. These are separate orders, all documented by the J1772 manual or the NACS manual linked above.
Current-setting conflict: the manuals include a 32A reference row, but their adjustment sections explicitly deny charger-side adjustment. Do not interpret that row as a supported setting for a smaller supply. Ask Lectron and the electrician to resolve suitability for the exact order.
NEXUS Pro: what to confirm before committing
Pro's advertised benefit is charger-side control: live status, scheduled charging, energy tracking and adjustable current. It does not advertise more power than the equivalent standard NEXUS connection. The product page names the Lectron Nexus App; do not substitute an older Lectron charger's app instructions.
The checked manual library lists NEXUS J1772, NEXUS NACS and V-BOX Pro charging-station manuals. Its linked NEXUS manuals name the standard model codes without -APP. We could not verify Pro commissioning instructions, so these remain buying conditions:
- Yes: Standard NEXUS: charging without charger networking is documented
- Partly: Pro: confirm account requirements and network requirements for initial activation
- Partly: Pro: confirm fresh charging sessions and restart behavior without internet
- Partly: Pro: confirm whether schedules and installed current limits survive a lost connection
- Partly: Pro: obtain model-specific instructions for any required load management or power sharing
The checked Pro pages do not document dynamic household load management or charger-to-charger sharing. Treat those features as unverified. Neither app current adjustment nor scheduling establishes a supported solution to limited electrical capacity. If those features decide your purchase today, compare the documented alternatives in the broader home-charger guide.
Will 48A actually improve your overnight charge?
Useful power is limited by the car as well as the station. The US Department of Energy identifies the vehicle's internal charger capacity and the supply among charging-time factors. Compare the same car at 9.6kW plug-in and 11.5kW hardwired, regardless of NEXUS or Pro branding.
Source: Lectron product specifications linked in the configuration table
Illustration, not a measured refill: assume an 8-hour overnight window and the energy budgets below. Ideal time = energy ÷ the lower of the station's output and the car's AC limit. Energy and car limits in this worksheet are assumptions.

| 40 | 11.5 | 40 ÷ 9.6 ≈ 4.2 | 40 ÷ 11.5 ≈ 3.5 |
These idealized estimates exclude losses and battery conditioning; leave margin for actual conditions. Both options fit the assumed window, so the extra output may not change your morning. For a shorter window or more energy to replace, redo the calculation using your car's specifications and actual electricity use.
Compare the complete installed order
The standard manuals pair 40A output with a 50A dedicated circuit, and 48A with a 60A circuit. These are quotation requirements for those models, not installation instructions or verified Pro commissioning settings. Hardwired chargers require a licensed electrician and a permit where required.
The standard NEXUS box includes the station, mounting plate, connector/cable holster and installation hardware. Pro's page confirms a cable and charger holster; request its full packing list with the manual before finalizing the quotation.

Lectron's plug-in marketing says an electrician is unnecessary, but its NEXUS FAQ says a new outlet and dedicated circuit require one. Compare complete professional quotations before selecting either connection.
Identify the car's port and AC limit
Choose the corresponding connector and useful output.
Approve the site quotation
Have the electrician confirm the exact station and supply are suitable.
Resolve Pro documentation and delivery
If choosing Pro, obtain its manual and the offline answers before committing.
Match the delivered model
Check the model code, connection and included mounting accessories against the order.
Cable reach, outdoor siting and winter limits
Plan around the published 23-ft cable with slack at the actual parking position. The standard manuals prohibit an extension cord. They state an operating range of −22°F to 122°F; that is an operating specification, not evidence of pleasant cable handling in freezing weather. We have no measured cold-weather handling result.
Lectron's NEXUS specification tables say IP66 / NEMA 4, while the same manuals carry an IP65 badge. Ask for clarification if environmental protection decides your installation. Pro advertises IP66 housing, but we have not verified a Pro-specific operating-temperature specification; do not transfer the standard manual's range to it.
Black Friday, Cyber Monday and warranty checks
Match the complete model code, connector, supply connection and standalone-versus-bundle contents before comparing offers. Recheck Pro's pre-sale status and obtain the seller's delivery and warranty terms before arranging installation. A promotional badge does not resolve the documentation gaps.
Lectron advertises a 3-year limited warranty for Pro; the standard manual specifies residential personal use and requires proof of purchase for claims. For direct purchases, its return policy specifies 30-day returns, unused and undamaged goods in original packaging, and customer-paid return shipping except verified defective or incorrect items. Check the actual seller's terms for a gift or an installed unit.
How we choose
We matched Lectron's US product pages and embedded order codes against its connector-specific manuals and support library. We separated advertised Pro features from documented standard-NEXUS operation and kept conflicts visible. We have not physically tested these chargers; the charging worksheet is illustrative arithmetic. The recommendation favors a documented usable order, with affiliate details explained in our disclosure.
Verdict
Buy the standard NEXUS in your car's connector and the professionally approved connection for app-free charging. Prefer 40A plug-in when the existing supply and overnight window suit it; consider 48A hardwired when useful output justifies the installation. Wait on Pro until its delivery, US manual and offline behavior meet your needs.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Lectron NEXUS and NEXUS Pro?
NEXUS has no Wi-Fi or charger app. NEXUS Pro advertises Wi-Fi monitoring, scheduling, energy tracking and adjustable current through the Lectron Nexus App. Both families offer 40A NEMA 14-50 and 48A hardwired configurations with J1772 or NACS connectors. Pro is a pre-sale in the checked pages, and we could not verify its own US manual, so our current recommendation is the documented app-free NEXUS.
Will Lectron NEXUS charge without Wi-Fi?
The standard NEXUS does not have Wi-Fi or app connectivity, according to its manuals, so charger networking is unnecessary. Scheduling and current changes belong in the vehicle where supported. That answer does not establish NEXUS Pro's offline behavior: its product pages advertise Wi-Fi features without explaining first activation, retained schedules or restart behavior after a lost connection. Confirm those points before choosing Pro for unreliable internet.
Can the NEXUS charge at 48A through a NEMA 14-50 outlet?
No. Lectron specifies 40A and 9.6kW at 240V for the NEMA 14-50 versions; 48A and approximately 11.5kW belong to the separate hardwired versions. Its standard NEXUS manuals pair those outputs with 50A and 60A dedicated circuits respectively. Have a licensed electrician assess the installation and obtain a permit where required. Do not buy the plug-in expecting the hardwired model's output.
Is Lectron NEXUS amperage adjustable?
The standard NEXUS manuals explicitly rule out post-installation charger adjustments and say there is no app or physical DIP switch; they direct current adjustments to the vehicle. A lower-current row elsewhere in the manual does not explain a charger setting. Pro advertises adjustable current, but its minimum settings and installer commissioning procedure remain unverified. Have the electrician confirm the exact model's suitability before ordering for a constrained supply.
Can I order NEXUS Pro now?
Lectron's J1772 and NACS Pro pages have selectable hardwired and NEMA 14-50 versions and an order button. However, their descriptions explicitly identify a pre-sale shipping in late November, while generic banners claim immediate availability. Treat it as a pre-order until Lectron confirms otherwise for your chosen SKU. We would also obtain its model-specific US manual and offline-operation answers before committing.
